This residential, energy-efficient building is located in Collonge-Bellerive, a mid-density area on the outskirts of Geneva. Situated on a sloped 550 m2 triangle of land, it faces a busy road connecting the city with nearby France

The four-level construction accommodates two double-storey flats and two one-bedroom attics. Additionally, the underground level features five parking bays, technical areas, and storerooms.

Our architecture, a true monolith made of concrete, responds to the challenging topography and site conditions. The pentagonal plan results from strict regulations governing the plot, such as setbacks, heights, and alignments.

The construction utilizes a reinforced concrete exoskeleton, insulated from the inside to prevent thermal bridging, with interior finishes combining delicate white elements, natural timber, and raw cement surfaces.

The functions are organized in parallel stripes following the direction of the road. This arrangement optimizes privacy and minimizes the impact of the noisy road. All living rooms and bedrooms face the quiet back side, offering views of the garden and sunlight. The functional stripes can be observed both in plan and cross-section.

Each apartment enjoys a private external space; the two-level units have their own terrace and garden, while the attics have access to generous rooftop terraces with views of Lake Leman and the Jura Mountains.

Consideration of sunlight and prevailing winds throughout the design process emphasizes the building's integration with its surroundings.
